Oh my Gosh!

Those were my words when I opened the surprise nail mail from my UK friend Kira. She is one of the first lady that I did a swap with and she remembered one hft polish I was lemming. I seriously would have never imagined even in my wildest nail polish dreams that this baby was going to be mine one day. I considered buying it on Ebay, opened and account on MUA in the hope to find someone willing to swap it, then I "forgot" about it (no I did not lol). So can you imagine my surprise when I ripped through the bubble wrap and saw Gosh 549 Holographic AND the Fix base coat? It was Christmas early and I literally jumped of joy lol. Prepare to drool because it IS beyond my expectations and the best holo in my collection.

It comes in an 8ml round bottle. In terms of application, it goes on really smoothly and takes two coats to be opaque. It dries fast and is holo indoors. I used the Gosh fix base coat on all fingers except my ring finger that has a regular base coat and Seche vite. The regular base coat makes it impossible to apply the polish and Seche vite really dulls the holo effect, so I will recommend wearing Gosh 549 Holographic with a special holo base coat and without top coat.

K's Special Fridays #3 - Midnight Party

Hello!

Today's franken is Midnight Party, a navy blue jelly with holographic glitter. I really love this one because it was created in a hurry. When I go out to work, dinner or anywhere else, I usually plan everything ahead, to the nail polish color, but that day I had no inspiration. My friend had a blue-themed birthday party and I just knew that I wanted a polish to match my dark blue eye shadow. I did not have any in my stash that satisfied my lemming so I decided to franken one! All pictures show two coats of Midnight Party and one coat of Seche vite.

Name: Midnight Party
Recipe: Sheer blue polish + BH Cosmetics dark blue shimmery eye shadow pigment + Wet N Wild Kaleidoscope + OPI Servin' up sparkle

Verona - Rainha

Rainha is a magenta crelly from the Brazilian brand Verona that I got in a swap. It comes in a 7.5ml bottle and is pretty easy to work with. My first reaction when I opened the bottle was hum it smells good! It has a fruity scent that is really pleasant, but kind of disappears over time. I had a hard time labeling the finish of this polish so I'm going to ask you too :-) It is not opaque enough to be qualified as a cream or transparent enough to be a jelly. It has a squishy/ syrupy look and some helpful ladies suggested the terms crelly (I like that) or sorbet (which makes me hungry lol). All pictures show two coats of Rainha and one coat of Seche vite. It does look darker in real than in my pictures.

P2 Pearl crackling top coat - Violet fusion

Hey!

I'm late to jump in the bandwagon but I got my first crackles last week in a swap. I did not like the ones from China Glaze or O.P.I. so I waited patiently to received these. They are from the European brand P2 and today, I'm showing you Violet fusion, a purple crackle with gold shimmer. I love it so much! It dried fast and only took one thin coat layered over Besouro. What do you think of it?
All pictures are without top coat

Up Colors Holographics - Part 2 of 4

Hello!

Today, I have for you the second part of my swatches of the Up Colors Holographics collection. I love all the colors I am about to show you. I have none of them in my stash and it was really hard to pick a favorite. Without further notice, I present to you Ouro boreal, Chuva de prata, and Grafite night.
Enjoy! All pictures are two coats of the polish with top coat.

Risqué - Besouro

Hello!

I'm in awe of the genius and the diversity put in each Brazilian nail polish I have. I have a thing for duochromes, multichromes, and holos, and my wish is to see more international brands jump in the bandwagon!
I received Besouro in a swap. This beauty is part of the Risqué Color Effect collection and comes in a 8ml bottle. Besouro means "beetle" and it is of course a duochrome! I didn't layer it over black because it has a dark base, so it was easily opaque in two coats. Besouro shifts from a dark indigo blue to purple and is so beautiful in real. Under sun light, it flashes one color, a dark emerald green  My pictures do not do it justice at all.

Up Colors Holographics - Part 1 of 4 (Blues)

Hello!

This is a follow up on my last post and I really have no words to describe those polishes, so I will let the pictures do the talking. Today I am showing you Azul Disco, Azul Arco-Íris, and Verde 360, the blues of the Up Colors Holographics collection, which is comprised of 12 amazing polishes. It took two coats to be opaque and dried fast. I had no issue with streakiness or goopiness. I really love the formula and for a 10ml bottle, it can go a long way. And yes! It does show some holo indoors but reveals its true beauty under the sun. Enjoy! All pictures are with top coat (sorry for the excess cuticle oil too!).

And the favorite is...

Hello Lovelies,

I hope you are having a great week end! I have a poll on my blog where you can vote for you favorite Birthday Club polish and the polish winner will... well I can't say a lot for now but it will be a surprise for mid-April ! You have until April 1st to vote :-) Thank you!
(poll is on the right)

K's Special Fridays #2 - Blanche Neige

Evening y'all :-)

Today's post is a little bit late and I apologize in advance for the crappy pics that I took like 5 mn ago. Last week, I showed you Black Galaxy a black holographic franken made with spectraflair. Today, I have for you Blanche Neige, a white jelly with fine silver and holographic glitter. I'm not a fan of white polishes (unless I'm using it as a base) so I decided to cheer up one of those by mixing it with Wet N Wild Kaleidoscope and some nail art glitter. I'm pretty happy with the results, I can layer it over bright colors and it is fully opaque in three coats (but you can get away with two).

Name: Blanche Neige (Snow White) - if you noticed most of my polishes names are/will be in French because it is my first language - when in doubt ask me or google :-)
Recipe: Wet N Wild Kaleidoscope + 20 drops of Wet N Wild French White Creme + Silver nail art glitter (sorry I don't remember the name)

Enjoy and see you later for part 1 of the Up Colors holographic swatches :-)

Good morning!

It is finally sunny so I can wear some of my Up Colors. I don't even know which one to wear first, they are all beautiful. There are 12 (yes 12!!) of them and they come in a 10ml edgy looking bottle. Now on to the pictures!! I will probably swatch them in two parts (warm and cool tones) because I have other Brazilian polishes to show you!

All pictures were taken with flash.

This is a quick post to show you the whole Birthday Club collection :-). You can click on the polish name to see more pictures and be redirected to an individual post. Thank you!

Up Colors - Mutação (pics heavy)

Good afternoon!

Today, I have for you Mutação, another gorgeous multichrome from the Brazilian brand Up Colors. It shifts from gold to green to crimson to burgundy. It is seriously beautiful over black or by itself. Mutação was very easy to apply and only took two coats to make it fully opaque. I got this polish and lots of beautiful others in a swap, but did not have to mail a package because my buddy was coming in vacation in my city (how lucky am I?) so we did meet in person! It was funny because we did not speak each other language, but also beautiful to share something in common. Great memories!
Prepare to drool! I used to take my pictures with my cellphone, but last week, I got a brand new camera for my brother's birthday and I had to test it :-) All pictures were taken in a natural light setting.

Up Colors - Cromoterapia (pics heavy)

Hey lovelies!

Well it's my first official mani post, and I have for you a beautiful polish that I got in a swap with my friend Lola from Brazil. It is from the brand Up Colors and Cromoterapia (Chromotherapy) is its name. It is a multichrome that flashes gold, copper, pink, and purple and I will be showing you swatches of it by itself and over black. From my researches, I found out that chromotherapy is a form of medicine in which each color has a therapeutic purpose. I don't know if it is true but I love this polish and it does make me feel happy to see the color changes with each hand movement.

Three coats of Cromoterapia and one coat of Seche vite - All pictures are taken outside under the sun light.

Mine d'Or

Hello!

The 10 days swatches of flakies and glitter goodness comes to an end with the last polish of the Birthday club collection. I present to you Mine d'Or (Gold Mine) an orange-goldish (yes I just invented that lol) yellow jelly with opalescent flakies and glitter. It is so sparkly indoors and show its true preciousness when the sun light reflects on the flakies and glitter! Let me know what you think of this one :-) I have been very happy to share my creations with all of you. Thank you so much and don't forget to mark April 1st on your calendar, which is the official date when I will start accepting orders.  I will also keep you updated with more details on how to order. And more bloggers' reviews to come! And on to the pics!

Ooh La la!!

Ooh La la!!
Those were the words I exclaimed when I made this polish for my friend Cathy. It was the first of the Birthday club collection to be created, the "original one" so it holds a special place in my heart. Ooh La la!! is a purple jelly with opalescent flakies and glitter. Layered or worn by itself, you will always be surprised of its versality. All pictures show three coats of Ooh La la!! and two coats of Seche vite.

Pinot Noir

Hello!

I present to you Pinot Noir, a burgundy jelly with opalescent flakies and glitter. I love dark red shades, so this one had to be included in the birthday club collection. The name comes from a variety of French black grapes, and can also refer to red wines made from those grapes. This polish is perfect for any vampy colors lover! It has a dark reddish purple tone that contrasts with the multicolored flakies. I hope you like it!
All swatches show three coats of Pinot Noir and two coats of Seche vite. I can't wait for tomorrow's swatch, it is (another lol) of my favorites.
Have a great week end !

Introducing K's Special Fridays #1 - Black Galaxy

It's me again peeps! I'm bringing to you K's Special Fridays, where every Friday now and then, I will share one franken recipe. The frankens featured in this special post edition are for my personal use and are not for sale. I will be as specific as possible, so you can easily reproduce the same recipe :-)
Here is Black Galaxy! I made this franken to satisfy a lemming of mine: Glitter Gal black. It is not as holo as the original, but I am pretty satisfied with the results. You can also see Black Glaxy in Shatter me Claire's FrankenMarch contest and drop me a little vote :-)  All the entries are awesome, go take a look! You can also vote for my Black Galaxy entry as a bonus in my giveaway. Thank you!

Oui, je le veux!

Hey!

Today, I have for you another beauty of the Birthday club collection. Oui, je le veux! (Yes, I do!) is a dusty pink jelly with opalescent flakies and glitter. Inspired by my future bride-to-be-friend, I wanted it to be delicate, but still catchy to the eye. All pictures show three coats of the polish and two coats of Seche vite. I hope you like! There are still three polishes of this collection left to show: Ooh la la!!, Mine d'or, and Pinot Noir. You can vote for the one you want to see here. Thank you and have a great week end!

Noir Désir (pics heavy)

Morning lovelies,

I finally tried the matte effect! I always wanted to do it after seeing some beautiful matte manicures online. So I did try it with Noir Désir and I love the result. This polish might be my favorite from the whole collection. Noir Désir is a black charcoal jelly with an explosion of opalescent flakies and glitter. It is very sparkly and distracting, I won't recommend driving with it (lol)
On to the pictures. See you tomorrow!

Naïade (pics heavy)

Good afternoon peeps :-)

First of all I want to say thank you all for showing so much support to my page, my blog, and my creations. I woke up this morning with a big smile to see that I had more than 100 readers :-) and over 1,000 page views! I hope that you enjoy these polishes as much as I loved making them. I have a giveaway going on to celebrate and you can enter here.

Now on to another sunny day of flakies and glitter goodness. You voted and asked to see Naïade, and there it is! Naïade is a turquoise/aquamarine jelly with opalescent flakies and glitter. The name comes from the Greek νάειν and νἃμα which means flowing water (in Greek mythology, Naiads are water nymphs). It is so versatile and sometimes flashes light tints of green under the sun. I tried to have the color as accurate as in real. Enjoy!

Hey pretty fairy

Hello again!

I really wanted to show you the beautiful work done by my friend Carolina from Colores de Carol. She received Jardin Enchanté as an early birthday gift and I love how she played with it. Most of the swatches that I am showing you myself are pictures of the polish by itself, but Carolina took it to another level: stamping!

Verte de rage

Helloooo!

We continue our 10 days of flakies and glitter goodness and today, I have for you Verte de rage. She is bold, fierce, and you don't want to mess with her.
Verte de rage (Green of rage) is a green jelly with opalescent flakies and glitter. It is hard to describe this color, so I will let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy!

Perle Bleue and Jardin Enchanté

Hello!

Today, I am sharing with you two of my creations from the Birthday club collection, Perle Bleue and Jardin Enchanté. I will be showing you one swatch a day of this collection. Many of you wonder what is the story behind this collection. It is a simple story of friendship and a one year adventure between twelve women who love polish yes, but who are here for each other. Each color in this collection represents in a way each one of those ladies who inspired me. So big shout out to Thea, Annalisa, Erica, Cathy, Aimee, Angela, Carolina, Marnie, Kelly, Marie-Luise, and Spencer.

Perle Bleue is a blue jelly packed with opalescent flakies and glitter. My friend Thea, who is a blue lover, inspired this polish. How do you like it? I love it, it reminds me of the beauty of the Bahamian waters :-)

Welcome :-)
