Hello!
Let me introduce you to KayJay from Refined & Polished, I really admire her work as almost every outfit she puts together, I want to wear lol! We have the same taste in clothes and polish, and she is the queen of tape manis, so make sure to head over to her blog! Thank you K for taking over my blog!

Hey dolls! I'm KayJay from Refined & Polished and it is my absolute pleasure to provide a guest post for Karine. I adore her nail art and frankening skills, so this post has a lot to live up to. I'm not nearly as good as she is at either of those, so I decided to stick with something I do know - striping tape manis. For the last few weeks, I've been wanting to attempt a plaid design using striping tape. Here's what I came up with.

I started with two colors from the Color Club Take Wing collection, Wing Fling (pink) and Metamorphosis (turquoise). Both shimmers are filled with gorgeous glass flecks. Two coats were used for opacity with both polishes.

After the base colors were completely dry, I applied the striping tape using four pieces for each nail. Next, I polished over the tape with the opposite shade and then removed the tape immediately. I waited about 10 minutes before adding a layer of top coat to ensure that the design wouldn't smudge.

I absolutely love the way this turned out! The striping tape was so easy to use and you can't go wrong with pink and turquoise.

I hope you all enjoyed this guest post. Many thanks again to Karine for allowing me to share with her corner of the nail blogging world. Karine always comments on my inspiration boards, so I had to create one especially her. Take care dolls!

  3. Love the stripping. This was such a fun collection - but I am always weak in the knees for a major glass fleck as these all have. I hunted every shade in this collection down....even the teal one shown here despite I have yet to find a teal I can wear unless it's in a cream finish..they always look horrible on me for some reason if not cream.
